5 Apps Every Millennial Should Have to Live an Inspired Life

If you check every millennial’s mobile phones, you’ll most likely see Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Uber, and Tinder. True, they make our lives a lot easier and more exciting, but there’s a lot of other apps out there that we should start exploring. More than keeping up within our social circle, why don’t we take advantage of other genius apps that will make us more productive, healthier, and wiser.

If you’re overwhelmed by tons of “best apps of the year” lists, here’s a good guide for millennial beginners.

A Mobile Phone

  1.    Nike+ Training Club

Gym selfies are cool but also unrealistic. If you’re low on budget, you can still get that bikini-body by downloading workout mobile apps. What you’ll love about NTC is that there’s a community out there that you can reach out to for support. Also, it allows you to choose focus areas to work on whether you’re a beginner or in advanced level already. You can also work out in your own space, time, and resources.

  1.    My Fitness Pal

A healthy lifestyle is holistic. Aside from being physically active, you have to make better choices with your diet. While you can log in your exercises in this app, my favorite feature is that it helps you monitor what you eat. It’s like keeping a food diary, but it makes it easier for you to track how near or far you are from your goal. But for this to be an effective tool, never ever cheat! If you ate 5 munchkins, don’t fool yourself that you only had 3.

  1.    BUDGT

Aside from #fitnessgoals, we should also be focusing on #financialgoals. I have heard about a couple of investment apps, but before going into that, start from the very basic of logging in your incomes and your daily spending. BUDGT will do the math. You will also realize how you are mindlessly allocating your budget and whether you are unwisely spending too much on entertainment, for instance.

  1.    Pocket

With the amount of content we’re bombarded lately, Pocket is such an

awesome app. It allows you to save content from different sites for future reference. You no longer have to bookmark every interesting thing you see online. This can serve as a great repository, and you can even put tags for easy reference. Read more about how awesome this app is for idea creation here.

  1. Headspace

If you’ve been constantly hearing about how great meditation is but are afraid to even try, here’s the perfect app to reap its benefits without having to turn into a hippie-yogi person (if that’s not your thing). What’s so great about this is that it’s unintimidating and it allows you to clear your head in a more realistic approach. The free version comes with a 10-session pack that’s enough to get you started on this healthy practice. I came across the book one time in the bookstore and thought I’d check the app out, and I recommend it to everybody since. You’d also be thrilled to know that even Emma Watson is a big fan.

I know browsing through Instagram makes us happy and inspired, and Snapchat gives us enough distraction when work or school gets too much. But instead of just looking at how other people live their lives, start living yours. Be inspired to be the best version of yourself with these apps for starters!
